- 1 pound ground turkey breast approximately 93% lean
- 2 cups red bell pepper choppped
- 1 can diced tomatoes no salt, 1 (16-ounce) can = 2 cups undrained tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon sage rubbed
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon sea salt to taste

Instructions
- Cook turkey mixture in a large skillet on medium heat, breaking up turkey into small pieces, cook until no longer pink.
- Drain off any fat.
- Add cooked meat and all other above ingredients to slow cooker, (diced tomatoes - add undrained).
- Add water for desired consistency.
- Cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
Recipe Notes
This low carb, low fat chili recipe combines one cup of select veggies, one cup of occasional veggies to 8 oz of turkey protein.
Phase 4
- try adding 1 yellow onion, diced to turkey in skillet in step 1
- try adding 2 tablespoons of tomato paste in the crock pot.
Here is the nutritional info for 1 tbsp of tomato paste, times this by 2 and you can see why it is no longer included in the recipe for phase one, especially since it already has 2 cups of tomatoes.
